How this count is made, and what it leaves out

The figure for the United Arab Emirates is not a soft directory number. Here is exactly what it counts, what it excludes, and how to check it.

What is counted

An organization is counted when it delivers something to a person with the intent of extending healthy years, through clinical care, screening, diagnostics, or a structured preventive program, and when it is published, not closed, and not a duplicate listing. The 33 figure for the United Arab Emirates counts every such organization across all four pillars of the healthspan economy.

What is left out, and how much

What this does not claim

The Atlas records, it does not rate. There is no ranking, no score, and no paid placement. No organization pays to appear or to rank, here or anywhere in the Atlas.

How to check

The United Arab Emirates lists every counted organization on this page, with the count broken down by pillar above. The figure is the sum of that breakdown, reproducible line by line. See how the geographic count is derived.

Where are they concentrated in the United Arab Emirates?

The Atlas records these city concentrations in the United Arab Emirates, each with three or more organizations holding a recorded site in the city. An organization with sites in two of these cities is counted in both, so these figures add up to more than the number of organizations they cover.

  • 29 Dubai
  • 5 Abu Dhabi

A further 1 organization holds no recorded site in any city listed above, whether because the site is in a smaller city in the United Arab Emirates or because no site is on record. Counted for the country, not shown as a concentration.

How is longevity medicine regulated in the United Arab Emirates?

The United Arab Emirates is the one market building a dedicated regulatory layer for longevity and regenerative medicine, at the emirate level in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi issued a Healthy Longevity Medicine Clinic Standard, published October 2024, defining what a licensed longevity clinic must provide and rating specific services by evidence tier. On the sources checked it is the only dedicated longevity clinic license in effect anywhere.
Department of Health Abu Dhabi, Healthy Longevity Medicine Clinic Standard (DOH/SD/HLMCS/HCF/V1/2024), effective April 2025. Primary source .
Dubai established a Dubai Longevity Authority mandated to license the value chain from research to patient clinics. As of July 2026 the authority is standing up its licensing regime rather than issuing longevity clinic licenses.
Government of Dubai, Law No. 17 of 2026, issued June 10, 2026. Primary source .
Dubai binds stem cell and regenerative services in Dubai Health Authority licensed facilities to a dedicated standard.
Dubai Health Authority, Standards for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine (DHA/HRS/HPSD/ST-68), effective April 20, 2025. Primary source .

High confidence. The Abu Dhabi standard, the Dubai law and the Dubai stem cell standard are read from the regulators' own documents.
